Janne Nabb (geb.

Janne Nabb's (b. 1984) and Maria Teeri's (b. 1985) material work is largely based on documentation, collection, multi-material displays, the exploration of the artefactual dimension, re-representations of objects and spaces with various media, or creating a new presence for them. Nabb + Teeri are interested in considerations of the possibility and impossibility of painting – or how painting in general can be practised any more today – and exploring the life-span and cycles of an artwork and the objects used in them.
Received, found and borrowed materials define the aesthetic, size, composition and duration of Nabb + Teeri´s works. In particular, objects and materials bound to location have become important elements of their recent exhibitions and displays. Accordingly, preparing for an exhibition has become more of a preparation for the actual mounting of works and for a location-bound archaeology.
